- About Odisha Fisheries College Alumni Association,Rangailaunda (OFCAAR)
The OFCAAR (Odisha Fisheries College Alumni Association, Rangailunda) was established in the year 1991; registered under Society Registration Act 1961. The Graduates and Post-Graduates of this College are the members of this Alumni Association. One B.F.Sc student soon after his/her graduation becomes a Life Member automatically. There are Annual General Body Meetings every year. Besides OFCAAR, organises Executive Body Meetings either physically or virtually on important agenda items from time to time.
- Mandates of OFCAAR:
- To foster a sense of community, coordination and links between the members interstate and between the members, the association, the college and the university.
- To support and assist the alumni by any means without limitation with regard to job and career developments.
- To undertake any ancillary activities necessary to accomplish and further the objective of the association.
- To disseminate innovative ideas, recent technical advancements in fishery science among the members through news letter.
- To work for the development of fisheries.

The Alumni of this College (B.F.Sc./M.F,Sc/Ph.D students) have been placed suitably in Government, Private, Public and Entrepreneurial sectors. In 2023, 107 graduates of this College have been selected for appointment as Assistant Fisheries Officer (AFO), in the Department of Fisheries, Govt. of Odisha. One graduate has been selected as OAS and another for ORS. Moreover, two graduates of this College have been selected for ARS. At present in total 343 alumni are working as State Fisheries Officers, 54 as Scientists in Fisheries Research Institutes, 44 in State/Central Agriculture Universities, 148 in Public Sector Undertakings, 97 in private sectors/self employed/enterpreneurs, 37 alumni working in their own states and 24 are employed in abroad 39 numbers are prosecuting their higher studies.

About Us
- About College of Fisheries, OUAT, Berhampur:
The College of Fisheries, Rangailunda was established in the year 1981 under Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar to offer four years degree programmes in Fisheries Science i.e., Bachelor of Fishery Science (B.F.Sc.). Initially the College started functioning in the College of Basic Science and Humanities, OUAT, Bhubaneswar. Subsequently, in 1983, it was shifted to its own campus at Rangailunda, Berhampur. Since then, the College has been operating in its own campus. It is fifth of its kind in India and first in Eastern India. The Post-Graduate Programme started in the year 1989 in collaboration with CIFA, Kausalyaganga with financial assistance from UNDP to offer two years M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture) and three years PhD (Fishery Sciences). The Post-Graduate Programme, which started initially in Veterinary College campus of OUAT got shifted to its own campus at Rangailunda in 1997.
Mandates:
- To produce professionally qualified human resource in the field of Fishery Science.
- To carry out need based research in Fish & Fishery Science.
- To disseminate technologies in the field of Fishery Science to the farmers and fishermen
Accomplishments
- 1024F.Sc., 165 M.F.Sc. and 14 Ph.D students have passed out from this College since inception till academic session 2024-25.
- Faculties of this College have completed a number of externally funded research projects like NATP, NAIP, RKVY, PMFE, PMMSY etc and few more research projects are in the pipe line.
- Several technologies have been generated and transferred to the stakeholders in the field of fisheries and aquaculture through training, demonstration and awareness programmes.
- A good number of B.F.Sc. students are prosecuting their higher education at National and International Institutes.
